Hey Adam!
It's great to see you on the forum! I'm glad to hear that you're interested in science and economics. I'm planning on studying a combination of those fields next year too. It's awesome that you're already reading books on finance. Check out our recommendations in the Investing Questions/Beginner's Tips section of the forum.
Definitely keep posting!

Im Michael Bryan, I'm a sophomore business major and a member of the Texas A&M class of 2013. I am currently undecided on my choice of major, but I will likely go with Accounting or Finance. I think this site is a great idea as college students are a consdierable section of the market, and our consumer trends could help other people make money via investing. I mean North Face, Chipotle/Freebirds, Decker Shoes, and the lilke, if only I'd known about that stuff 10 years ago. This is a great idea. I also intend to dominate every stock competition, but not really I will probably lose a lot, but I have faith in BP.

Hey Michael,
Thanks for signing up for the stock market game! I'm glad you like the site! If you do win every stock market game, you must be the next Warren Buffet.
I hope BP successfully installs the containment cap; the oil needs to stop polluting the Gulf. That being said, its stock has been on a wild ride over the past two months. Maybe it can dominate for the rest of the summer.
I hope to see you post in the forum!

Hey everyone,
I'm Ben, and I hail from a growing suburb in Illinois. Headed off to Harvard 2014 like several others on these boards, and I'm hoping for a concentration mix of economics and biochemistry. Don't know how well that'll work out, but I'm hoping it will.
I love technology, science, and drugs (the pharmaceutical ones, huge market), along with anything else that is interesting and ground-breaking. Philosophy, anything that requires thinking, reading, physical challenges (mountain climbing, skydiving, caving), travel (Amazon, Africa, Indonesia), etc. are all things I'm interested in and want to do much more of.
My philosophy is that money is very good to have, because with money, you can do all the crap you want to do. Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you all the things that you need to give you happiness. For me, that means reseach money for longevity/senescence studies, travel money, apocalypse survival bunker-creation money, world structure-altering money (humanitarian stuff, changes, etc.), and more things like that. It's looking like the amount of money I'll need is going to be in the billions, so I better start investing now.

Joe,
It's great to have you join our community. I think this is the best place for young people to learn about investing in a FUN way. Also, can't wait to meet you and the rest of 2014 in the fall.
On a side note, we are going to be creating our own investing club at Harvard related to CSP and highly encourage you to join.

Hi there. I'm Evan. I just graduated last year with a degree in molecular biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I'm a scientist, but thought investing might be an interesting way to earn some extra money in the long-term. I love collecting records and playing drums and I now play in a band in NYC.
It's nice to meet you all and I'm already impressed with the simplicity and vastness of information on this site.

Hey All,
My name is Ryan. I just graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I majored in Fianance with a Minor in economics (focusing on financial markets and monetary policy). I am a level 2 candidate in the CFA program and just love financial markets (I try to at least follow most markets and instruments). I am really hoping to benefit from expertise of people that may be experts in other areas that can apply their knowledge in an investment context. I have been trading mostly Biotechs this year and need new ideas!!

Great to have you join the boards. I think you will find a plethora of ideas both in the forums and The College Edge.
What biotechs have you been looking at?

Mostly CHTP and AVNR, watched BIOD collapse (luckily no exposure) and following CLSN for indication of phase III progress.
