What are some things that will give you an edge in landing a good internship. How can you prepare yourself ahead of the game to make a good impressions. Finance internships must be really competitive and I want to be ready since I will not be going to a college with an outstanding reputation in business?

Alfredo,
You are right in that finance internships are VERY competitive. Here is what I would say: blow them off their feet.
If you have the desire and the passion to succeed, don't let anything stop you. Really. Tell them that you work two jobs on the weekend, and that you spend your spare time learning everything you can on this site. Tell them that you may not go to a college with an oustanding reputation in business, but you will work 10X as hard as everyone else to get the job done. Tell them that you are a person worth taking a chance on.
If you have that sort of attitude, and you learn the investing skills on this site to back it up, I'm confident that with persistence you could pull it off.
