I'm interested in some of your opinions on this stock. It's skyrocketed in the past year due to the unbelievable revenue it's generated in its casinos in Macau and Singapore. To put it in perspective, Singapore only has 2 casinos. Marina Bay Sands and Sentosa Island. These 2 alone in a year generate the same amount of revenue as Las Vegas.
And in Macau, the gambling industry generates 5x that of Vegas in the same period of time. The new wave of wealthy Chinese have seriously caused a firestorm of income for these places.
With LVS's earnings report coming out tomorrow after the bell, it will really be interesting to see what it reports. Analysts have estimated an EPS of around 43 cents which is much higher than the 17 cents from the same period a year ago.
Singapore is still a relatively immature and young market since it opened only last year.
However, I was able to visit it a few weeks ago and it is loaded to the brim with big time gamblers. So the outlook is pretty positive.
In the first 3 months of this year, they pulled in 586.1 million in revenue in Singapore which was more than 200 million more than Sands 2 casinos in Vegas as well as Pennsylvania operations combined.
I am Long LVS.
Post any opinions and thoughts.
I'd love to get a discussion going.
